The two week program of the BioBusiness PhD summer school introduces you in the world of life sciences companies with interesting lectures by renowned speakers covering all important basic and hot topics and takes you on several site visits to different international companies. The lectures and company visits have a very interactive character, and the course includes various networking opportunities.

When and where?
The BioBusiness PhD summer school 2010 will be held from August 23rd to September 3rd. The home location is the lively city of Amsterdam, with most lectures given at the Academic Medical Center, but the program also includes several site visits.

Aim
Knowledge of the business field and the current market is important for all researchers in the rapidly growing life sciences area, but especially those who are looking for career opportunities in the industry. The aim of the BioBusiness PhD summer school is to increase the understanding of the international field of biomedical business and to help PhD students and post-docs find the best next step in their career.

Topics
The program covers main topics like product development, patents & licenses, from start-up to IPO, biopharma business models, new market opportunities, pharmacopolicy, pharmacoeconomics, business ethics, entrepreneurship and emerging diseases. The course includes technology break-out sessions and many company visits. Also CLS Services will give a course.

Who can apply?
The BioBusiness summer school is for PhD students and postdoctoral fellow/post-doc's in life sciences. Applicants will be part of a selection process.
