Profile

As Project Leader, you are highly enthusiastic about analytical chemistry, especially liquid- and gas chromatography. You go the extra mile to get things done and are comfortable to take the initiative in primary work processes.
You have a proven background in analytical chemistry, and are able to translate customer questions into analytical solutions while keeping the requested timelines and budget in mind. You have a small team of analytical chemists, which you lead on a day to day basis to meet the targets, and help them with small and bigger analytical challenges. If analytical challenges arise, you are able to set-up a plan to find and fix the problem. After finalising the practical work, you are able to draw conclusions, and make the final report.
Besides documenting and reporting your findings properly, you are able to draw conclusions from the results and set-up a plan forward. Furthermore, you are used to work according GMP guidelines and/or ISO certified quality systems. You will report to the general manager.

Who we're looking for

We are searching for a Project Leader with an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry and experience/knowledge of chromatography. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a chemical analyst, with a proven knowledge in chromatography method development is necessary to fulfil this role.
Additional requirements:
  • Good knowledge of LC-MS/MS is a plus;
  • Experience in project management;
  • Accountable for managing your workflow;
  • Strong communications skills;
  • (Technical) reporting skills; written and verbally;
  • Positive mindset and a good sense of humour.
Brightlabs offers you an inspiring work environment with a good variety of analytical techniques (e.g. LC- and GC-MS/MS, ICP(MS), PSD, wet chemical analysis). Because of their market position, they can challenge you with different analytical questions.

Company profile

Since 2016 Brightlabs has been situated on a special location: the Villa Flora. This building is part of the Brightlands campus greenpoort Venlo.
This unique environment is host to the cross-pollination of 4 pillars: Research, Entrepreneurs, Education and Government.

Brightlabs is not just the next routine laboratory. Instead they focus on the complex routine- and not routine research, while keeping the customer’s request central to their work. They can apply their existing methodology to specific products or, if necessary, develop a new analysis method and validate this at the right level. Brightlabs is not a numbers factory, so in order to hit the right tone they are very serious about co-creation. Joining forces and expertise with partners and customers ensures a distinctive profiling.

As a High-end laboratory they are very well equipped for the analysis of organic and inorganic compounds and elements. In this, they are specialised in chromatographic and mass spectromic techniques, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and ion chromatography (IC), also combined with mass spectrometry such as LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS. In addition to chromatographic equipment, Brightlabs has ICP-OES and ICP-MS equipment and element analysis also belongs to their field of expertise.

Brightlabs is the laboratory for all analytical matters for the pharmaceutical industry (physical, chemical, and micro biological analyses). From resource analysis in conformity to the pharmacopoeia, purity of a drug-substance, to QC analysis of drug-products. The combination of their opium exemption, combined with GMP accreditation, makes Brightlabs an important partner for the analysis of cannabis and related materials for both the Pharma-, Food-, and supplements sector.
Also in Food industry Brightlabs works in three pillars: R&D, complex routine and routine. Within these three pillars they analyse both the active ingredients in fruits and vegetables, as unwanted substances such as crop protection agents and heavy metals. While doing this, they usually focus on the divergent analysis questions.
In the field of Water and Soil Research, they perform chemical analyzes to determine, among other things, trace elements in soil and water samples, in addition to regular analyzes such as organic matter and dry weight determinations.
