Vacancy number: A2300034
Brightlabs BV - Venlo (Nederland)

For our client, Brightlabs BV, we are looking for a Scientist Mass Spectrometry.

  • Mass Spectrometry
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • ISO 17025 and / or GMP
  • Method development

For Brightlabs we are looking for a hands-on scientist with practical experience in LC, especially combined with mass spectrometry (LCMS/MS). You like to perform method development followed by validation. Besides that, you feel comfortable in trouble shooting and maintenance of the systems once they are showing signs of brake down.

You go the extra mile to get things done and are comfortable to take the initiative in primary work processes. After finalising practical work, you can draw attention to suspected results and evaluate the process, including yourself. You are showing suitable documentation skills, including reporting your findings as well as drawing final conclusions and proposals for improvement if required.

In the team of 20 analysts, you are working under and reporting your daily business to the project leader. In this team you will support clients in analytical questions from method development and method validation followed by sample analysis.

Who we're looking for

We are searching for an expert with an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry with at least 5 years of experience as a specialist/scientist in industry. You have proven experience with LC-MS (/MS) techniques and good knowledge of method development and validation. People with a Ph.D., thorough knowledge of LC/MS and a practical mindset are also encouraged to apply.
Preferably, you have experience with ISO 17025 and / or GMP.

Why should you join Brightlabs?
  • They provide an inspiring work environment with a good variety of analytical techniques (e.g. LC- and GC-MS/MS, ICP, PSD, wet chemical analysis).
  • Their continuously growing company creates a lot of opportunities to develop your analytical knowledge.
  • You can develop your analytical skills and techniques in the area of method development and validation, and use these skills on real-life samples.
  • This all while working on challenging projects in collaboration with a team of enthusiastic colleagues, and bringing them to a success.

Company profile

Since 2016 Brightlabs has been situated on a special location: the Villa Flora. This building is part of the Brightlands campus greenpoort Venlo.
This unique environment is host to the cross-pollination of 4 pillars: Research, Entrepreneurs, Education and Government.

Brightlabs is not just the next routine laboratory. Instead they focus on the complex routine- and not routine research, while keeping the customer’s request central to their work. They can apply their existing methodology to specific products or, if necessary, develop a new analysis method and validate this at the right level. Brightlabs is not a numbers factory, so in order to hit the right tone they are very serious about co-creation. Joining forces and expertise with partners and customers ensures a distinctive profiling.

As a High-end laboratory they are very well equipped for the analysis of organic and inorganic compounds and elements. In this, they are specialised in chromatographic and mass spectromic techniques, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and ion chromatography (IC), also combined with mass spectrometry such as LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS. In addition to chromatographic equipment, Brightlabs has ICP-OES and ICP-MS equipment and element analysis also belongs to their field of expertise.

Brightlabs is the laboratory for all analytical matters for the pharmaceutical industry (physical, chemical, and micro biological analyses). From resource analysis in conformity to the pharmacopoeia, purity of a drug-substance, to QC analysis of drug-products. The combination of their opium exemption, combined with GMP accreditation, makes Brightlabs an important partner for the analysis of cannabis and related materials for both the Pharma-, Food-, and supplements sector.
Also in Food industry Brightlabs works in three pillars: R&D, complex routine and routine. Within these three pillars they analyse both the active ingredients in fruits and vegetables, as unwanted substances such as crop protection agents and heavy metals. While doing this, they usually focus on the divergent analysis questions.
In the field of Water and Soil Research, they perform chemical analyzes to determine, among other things, trace elements in soil and water samples, in addition to regular analyzes such as organic matter and dry weight determinations.
