Let’s meet Sander
Sander Vader is 52 years old, married, and a father. He lives in Utrecht and leads a highly active lifestyle. In his spare time, he coaches a women’s water polo team, among other activities. He thrives on professional challenges, noting: "When a project involves significant challenges under tight deadlines and high pressure, I dive right in."
Challenges within his role
Through CLS Services, Sander is currently seconded to Johnson & Johnson, where he serves as Compliance Lead and Deputy Head of Quality Control. In this capacity, he is responsible for releasing product testing. Additionally, he collaborates with a large team on an intensive project aimed at qualifying a new fill and finish line.
"We are involved at a very early stage of development," Sander explains. "Our objective is to guarantee patient safety by ensuring the equipment is qualified according to the latest guidelines and is in adherence to Annex 1. We manufacture materials for phase 1 clinical trials in cell and gene therapy. My role in this project focuses on maintaining ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders to ensure everyone can perform their work seamlessly. Across both of my current roles, I start each day with a structured plan, but a single issue or sudden shift can completely upend my schedule and responsibilities. It is precisely that unpredictability that I enjoy."
A trusted employer and client
Johnson & Johnson is familiar territory for Sander. He previously spent 11 years with the company, initially placed through the introduction and recruitment services of CLS.
"While I was previously employed directly by J&J through CLS Services, this time I am working with them on a secondment basis. When I saw the vacancy, I reached out to CLS immediately. The interaction was just as seamless as before: a warm approach, excellent cooperation, and prompt communication. For me, it makes little difference whether I hold a permanent contract or work on a secondment basis. CLS consistently ensures that its employees receive compensation equivalent to peers on permanent contracts. They have always stood out from other agencies in this regard. In my previous role at J&J, I worked extensively with contractors, and before the Equal Pay Act (Wet gelijkwaardige beloning) came into effect, the disparities were substantial. In that context, CLS clearly distinguished itself positively."
Collaboration with CLS
"Although I am not in touch with them on a daily basis, I know that whenever I need CLS, I can easily reach out. They are personable and highly approachable. René visits the site a few times a year to check in and see if I require any support. They are very attentive, sending a Christmas present or a token of appreciation for my birthday. I know that if I ever run into any difficulties, I can easily discuss them. In short: CLS is an excellent employer, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with them."
