Jouke Elsinga from Elsinga beleidsplanning & innovatie B.V. was searching for a new team member. Yet, finding the right person proved challenging.

From Consultant to Inspector and Project Manager
Elsinga beleidsplanning & innovatie B.V. specializes in the sustainable processing of household waste and organic residues (including source-separated organics and manure). They develop technologies for waste separation, diaper recycling, anaerobic digestion, and composting. The company advises on and manages projects focused on technological sustainability in waste processing and also guides tender procedures within the sector.
 
Jouke: “No one learns in school what we do. You learn it on the job with us. We are a knowledge-driven company and hold patents in waste-processing technologies. We are engineers and hands-on problem solvers, and we want to make a real societal impact by turning waste back into resources. That’s the future. One example is our diaper-recycling initiative (Repaid.nl), with which we are growing internationally.”
 
How did the recruitment process go?
The role Elsinga’s company offers is far from standard. It requires significant flexibility and, after onboarding, a good degree of independence. Jouke: “You can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty, literally, because you’ll regularly be digging into waste. You develop solutions at your desk and speak with a wide range of people. How do you capture that in a job description? The process went quite smoothly. Together with CLS, we sharpened the vacancy profile. They quickly understood the type of person I was looking for and then tapped into their network. The entire CLS team is very approachable; they make contact easily and act fast. As a first experience with CLS, this was a bull’s-eye. The employee they found has now been with us for a year and is truly a perfect match.”
